Dr. Chad Thorpe D.D.S

Dr. Chad grew up on Diamond Lake in Cassopolis.  With apologies to native Michigan, he chose to complete his four year Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree at Ohio State University. During dental school, he spent much time at various public health centers in underserved communities. In 2010, he traveled to Africa to provide dental treatment to people in Kampala, Uganda. Dr. Chad hopes that with a positive attitude, passionate concern for patients, and commitment to constant improvement in the dental profession, he can help to create a wonderful experience at CFD.

Dr. Libby Thorpe D.D.S

Dr. Libby graduated from Ohio State University with her BS in biology in 2009 and then her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 2013.  As a general dentist, Dr. Libby has a broad training in all aspects of dentistry but her passion is oral surgery. Most of the work that Dr. Libby performs at CFD involves extractions and replacement of missing teeth. Dr. Libby continues to further her education, especially in regards to dental implants and tethered oral issues (like tongue-tie). In her free time, Dr. Libby enjoys spending time with her husband, Dr. Chad, their daughter, Tessa, and their two dogs. As a family, they enjoy relaxing, reading, enjoying the outdoors and traveling. 

Dr. Kris Bano D.D.S

Native to Canada, Dr. Bano attended and graduated from the University of Toronto with a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and Genetics. Following that, he completed dental school at the University of Michigan.  Seeing it not as work, but rather art, and a way to help others, Dr. Bano is extremely passionate about smile rehabilitation and the various procedures that come with such complex work, such as the fabrication of porcelain, root canals, surgery and much more. Outside of work, Dr. Bano takes interest in photography, reading, yoga/meditation and candle making. 

Jenny Wheeler RDH, QOM

Alongside being one of our dental hygienists, Jenny is also our main Myofunctional care provider here at CFD. She received her education in dental hygiene from Kalamazoo Valley Community College and has since also become a board certified orofacial myologist, certified myobrace educator and performance breathing coach.  With this vast amount of education in myofunctional therapy, Jenny is able to provide non-invasive therapy to those who suffer from disorders of the face and mouth.  Outside of work Jenny and her family enjoy visiting amusement parks, skiing, and camping. 

Stacey L.

Stacey is the lead dental assistant at CFD. With over 25 years of experience, she has learned a lot about the field and it’s advancements. Stacey studied at Grand Rapids Educational Center and has since also been certified in dental implant and gained a lot of experience in doing crowns and the orthodontic services offered at CFD. Outside of work, Stacey enjoys spending time with her husband, kids and dog. She also enjoys fishing, working on her flower beds, or relaxing by the pool.  

Jen m.

Jen is a dental hygienist with over 15 years of experience (6 of them at CFD) in dental care, providing preventative and therapeutic services. Jen is passionate about not only caring for/treating patients but also educating them on oral and overall health. In her spared time, Jen enjoys spending time with her family and her American bulldog.  Jen also loves daily running/other outdoor activities.  

Andrea S.

Andrea joined our team as a dental hygienist in mid-2020, shortly after receiving her associates in dental hygiene from KVCC.  Andrea is passionate about connecting with and educating her patients on oral and overall health. Andrea was born in Michoacán, Mexico but was raised in Sturgis, Mi.  Alongside her dental skills, she offers CFD the ability to better communicate with our Spanish-speaking patients. In her free time, Andrea likes to spend time with her husband (high-school sweetheart) and her baby boy, Nicolás. She also enjoys travel, indie rock, Harry Potter, and is quite a “foodie”.   

Rachel s.

Rachel is one of our dental hygienists here at CFD. She discovered her passion for dental health through her own dental and orthodontic experiences.  After two years of nursing school, she decided to instead pursue a career in dentistry. She received her degree in dental hygiene from Indiana University. She is extremely passionate about the oral health & well being of each of her patients. In her spare time, Rachel enjoys spending time with her husband, daughter and their 3 dogs. Some of her other interests include volleyball and bowling.

Amber w.

Amber is one of our dental assistants here at CFD. She received her education at Everest Institute of Kalamazoo. Alongside her work as a dental assistant, she also works alongside Dr. Chad in Sleep/TMJ treatment.  Amber is passionate about this area of work because of how essential quality sleep is to our well-being.  Outside of work, Amber spends a lot of time on self-development through physical fitness, intentional eating, and expanding her knowledge of mental wellness.  She also enjoys painting, traveling, and of course, spending time with her loved ones. 

Emmaline P.

Emmaline is one of our Dental assistants here at CFD.  After seeing the incredible work-ethic and attention to detail that Emmaline brought as a team member of one of our partners-in-health, Green Light Farm, Dr’s. Chad and Libby offered her a full-time position at CFD as a Dental assistant. Emmaline continues to further her education and training as she learns more and more about dental and overall health at CFD each day. Emmaline has a passion for working with plants and holistic healthcare. Some of Emmaline’s hobbies are watching science documentaries, up cycling clothes, self-growth, and enjoying the outdoors.

Sheri S.

Sheri is our Office Manager and one of our treatment coordinators here at CFD.  She originally came into our office as a dental hygienist and eventually transferred to the office side of dentistry. In her current position at CFD, her mission is to create a seamless, fun experience so that the patient leaves well informed and prepared for their next appointment. When she’s outside of the office, Sheri enjoys spending time with her husband, children, grand babies, and other family members and friends.  Having a houseful of family and friends with craziness and laughter is her soul. She truly enjoys truly living and loving.

Shellie S.

After 10 years of working as a cosmetologist, Shellie decided to pursue a career as a dental assistant in 1994, working at CFD, then known as Shields Dentistry.  Now, Shellie holds the title of CFD Treatment Coordinator. As a treatment coordinator, she helps curate treatment plans for our patients. In cases where completing treatment seems out of reach, Shellie does her best to try to find a way to make it happen, with the patients best interest in mind. Shellie’s hobbies are spending time with her husband of 35 years, her kids and grandkids.  She also enjoys time by the pool and restoring old furniture.

Casey B.

Casey is one of our front desk receptionists/administrative assistants.  She received her education at Grand Rapids Community College. Outside of work, Casey spends most of her time with her family and Saint Bernard. Along with that, she also enjoys playing D&D with friends, attending renaissance fairs, etc.
